By Tony Mallinson

SeaDream Yacht Club, 112 passenger capacity ship SeaDream I made a scheduled call into Portsmouth on the 19th October 2020. Allowing guests to embark on a ‘Covid-secure’ transatlantic crossing from Portsmouth to Barbados.

This was the first international cruise calling at the port since sailings were suspended, SeaDream I had previously called into Oslo and Rotterdam, en-route to Portsmouth as part of her 21-day cruise to Bridgetown, Barbados.

Strict health protocols were required, including the use of coronavirus testing 72 hours prior to embarkation and immediately upon boarding, alongside extensive cleaning and sanitation regimes.

The cruise port in Portsmouth has implemented enhanced protocols since the start of the pandemic, including a reconfigured terminal to maximise social distancing, and a temperature camera to check passengers, staff and crew.

Once SeaDream I arrives into Barbados she will offer new and unique 6 and 7 day roundtrip voyages from Bridgetown.
