Silver Wind is scheduled to receive an ice class, expedition overhaul in her 2020 refurbishment.
Silversea Cruises have announced plans to give Silver Wind a second extensive refurbishment, which will see her receive ice-class certification as well as a number of expedition cruising additions. The drydock which is scheduled for August 2020 will last two months in line with the company’s Project Invictus program.
As part of the refurbishment, a fleet of Zodiacs and kayaks will be added as well as an upgrade to the ship’s theatre. All of the suites will undergo a full upgrade along with the Spa & Salon which will be completely refurbished. The reception area/atrium will receive an overhaul with additional improvements being made to La Dame, La Terrazza, the Main Bar, Observation Lounge, Panorama Lounge, the Pool Bar and public bathrooms.
Following the dry dock, Silversea plans to deploy the ship on both traditional itineraries and expedition itineraries, including the Arctic and Antarctica. Silver Wind will resume service on 10th November 2020, where she will embark on her inaugural season in Antarctica.
