The complete redesign of Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity has been revealed by Crystal Cruises.
The details that have emerged include some very impressive renderings of what the ships will look like after the refit has been completed. It is evident that from looking at these images that Crystal's ocean ships will embody a similar appearance to the new Crystal yachts that have recently launched.

Major changes that are being made to the ships include the addition of new luxurious penthouse categories, innovative dining options, new advanced technology and significant updates to the décor to establish a more sophisticated and elegant feel onboard.
Not only this, but the main dining venue; the Crystal Dining Room, will be transformed into a new venue called the Waterside. There will be a wider range of seating options in this dining venue as more tables for two and four guests will be added. The classic style of first and second seating dining will be removed, instead Crystal will be replacing these options with a new open seating dining concept where guests will have the flexibility to dine at whatever time they like between 6pm and 9:30pm.
Another venue that will be redesigned includes the current Lido Café. During the day, this venue will be transformed into the Marketplace, whereas in the evening it will become Churrascaria, both of which will have high quality dishes made to order. The restaurant Silk, will also receive a new décor and menu enhancements on both ships.
There will also be more accommodation changes to be made to both ships, this includes two new categories on Crystal Symphony; Seabreeze Penthouse Suites with Veranda and Seabreeze Penthouse with Veranda. These new grades will be located on deck 9, otherwise referred to as Seabreeze deck.
Additional Penthouses will be added to Crystal Serenity, a total of 36 suites to be exact, and also 2 Penthouse Suites will added to deck 10.

This means that the amount of passengers that the ships can take has been reduced, what with the new Penthouse Suites coming in and occupying the some of the smaller staterooms. As a result of this, Crystal Symphony will carry 848 passengers whereas Crystal Serenity will carry 980 passengers. Crystal have announced that this create a significant increase in space per guest and will boast a more intimate experience for guests.
Another great addition will be unlimited complimentary Wi-Fi for guests to use onboard as well as a new guest portal called Crystal Connect.
The refurbishment for Crystal Symphony has already taken place, whilst Crystal Serenity will undergo her refit in October 2018. The refit will take about a month to complete when the ship is in dry dock.

Crystal‘s brand of Six-Star luxury has soared to new heights with the launch of Crystal Luxury Air, becoming the first in the luxury travel industry to offer extravagant around-the-world trips on the world’s most advanced twin-aisle Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The plush aircraft, which typically seats 300, flies 60 guests in fully reclining business class seats to coveted destinations to which major airlines do not offer nonstop service. Each approximately 28-day itinerary will visit 10-12 remote and/or sought-after locales, with accommodations at some of the world's finest hotels and resorts; cuisine prepared by celebrity chefs inspired by the destination; and world-class cultural entertainment.
Crystal have organised exclusive events for it's AirCruises guests in different locations which will showcase the local culture. This includes a private party and dinner on the Great Wall of China and a Festival of Lights celebration in the Thai capital.
The aircraft has been customized to meet Crystal‘s standards of luxury as the aircraft will boast full reclining seats, social spaces, large flat-screen TV’s, Michelin Star-inspired cuisine as well as butler and concierge services.
The size of the plane will be larger than other private jets and it will consist of features that you would usually find in luxury suite accommodation. There will be an emphasis on comfort and maximum personal space as the seats will fully recline to lie-flat beds that measure a total of 73.5 inches long. There will also be a stand-up bar in the social lounge, two divans and four dining tables that seat up to six guests. Cuisine will be prepared by an executive chef in galleys and guests can choose any wine they fancy from a premium wine list.
Compared to ordinary planes, the Crystal luxury aircraft offer guests Bose Noise Cancelling headphones, Apple iPads, complimentary global WiFi, 24-inch interactive TVs equipped with on-demand programming and a music library, individual USB ports and power outlets, and a live cockpit-to-ground listening channel. The experience also comes with custom blankets for guests, lumbar and pillows, plush duvets, mattress toppers and spacious lavatories with amenities.
Ocean Vessels: “Crystal Exclusive Class” - Late 2018
Certainly not resting on any laurels, Crystal returns its focus to the seas, with three new “Crystal Exclusive Class,” cruise ships with the first expected for delivery in late 2018. Genting Hong Kong has signed a letter of intent with Lloyd Werft in Germany to build the polar ice class vessels. Lloyd Werft is widely recognised in the shipping industry for its excellent reputation and success with world-class new builds, building and lengthening six Norwegian Cruise Line vessels, including the Pride of America, the only ocean cruise ship flying the American Flag, sailing year round in Hawaii.
“Our vision and revolutionary plans for Crystal‘s ocean vessels requires us to partner with a premium shipyard that has the expertise and resources to deliver the ’Crystal Exclusive Class',” said Tan Sri Lim. “Lloyd Werft is synonymous with successful world-class new builds and luxury mega yachts, including Luna, the second largest expedition private yacht in the world, measuring at 337 feet long.”
With the introduction of these new vessels, Crystal will be the first-ever cruise line to deliver expedition-capable ships with all the signature features and amenities of a luxury ship or private yacht. The all-suite, all balcony ship will accommodate 1,000 guests, similar to the capacity on Crystal Symphony (922) and Crystal Serenity (1,070), and weigh more than 100,000 gross tons.
