It has been confirmed that luxury ship Viking Sky has been delivered to Viking Ocean Cruises. The ship was built by Fincantieri at their shipyard in Ancona, Italy, and it is now ready to make it’s debut on 25th February 2017 when it sails to the Mediterranean.
Viking Sky is very similar to Viking Star that is already in service operating a wide range of exotic and exciting ocean voyages. Viking Sky accommodates a total of 930 passengers and it weighs 47,800 tons. The ship is very contemporary yet classic in it’s appearance and it is large enough to offer guests plenty of space on board, yet still small enough to sail to destinations that larger ships cannot access.
The new ship has elegant touches with the use of indulgent fabrics and earthy natural materials for the interior spaces. There are some very unique additions to Viking Sky, including a spectacular range of artwork to be admired in the grand atrium that changes depending on your destination and an innovative glass-walled Infinity Pool on deck.
Viking Ocean Cruises will next deliver Viking Sun later this year and two more ships in 2018 and 2019. Please contact The Sovereign Cruise Club for the very best fares on all Viking voyages!
