Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) has announced a major expansion of its future fleet, confirming an agreement with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri for the design and construction of three new cruise ships.
The order includes one vessel for each of the group’s three brands:
-
Norwegian Cruise Line
-
Oceania Cruises
-
Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Each ship will be built as a sister vessel to recently announced or upcoming ships within their respective fleets. Oceania’s new addition will follow the design of Oceania Sonata, while Regent’s vessel will be a sister ship to Seven Seas Prestige. The Norwegian Cruise Line ship will join the brand’s next generation class currently on order.
All three vessels will be constructed at Fincantieri’s shipyards in Italy, with delivery scheduled between 2036 and 2037.

Expanding the Orderbook Through 2037
With this latest agreement, NCLH now has a total of 17 ships on order across its portfolio:
-
Eight for Norwegian Cruise Line
-
Five for Oceania Cruises
-
Four for Regent Seven Seas Cruises
According to newly appointed president and chief executive officer John Chidsey, the agreement strengthens the group’s long-term growth strategy while maintaining financial discipline.
“Together with Fincantieri, a trusted partner for decades, we continue to advance a disciplined approach to fleet growth that builds on the strength of our brands, defines the future of cruising and elevates the guest experience for years to come,” Chidsey said.
He added that the agreement secures valuable shipyard capacity through the end of 2037, supporting sustained expansion and long-term shareholder value.
Brand-Specific Developments
Further details have also emerged regarding upcoming launches within the group:
-
Seven Seas Prestige will debut with a 14-night transatlantic voyage from Barcelona to Miami, departing December 13.
-
Oceania Sonata will begin its inaugural season in August 2027, sailing a programme of European and Caribbean itineraries.
The latest announcement reinforces NCLH’s commitment to measured fleet growth across contemporary, premium and ultra-luxury segments — positioning the company for steady expansion well into the next decade.
