Oceania Cruises has announced the launch of the Oceania Sonata, the first vessel in the line’s newly introduced Sonata Class, scheduled to debut in 2027.
“We are delighted to unveil the Oceania Sonata, the start of our exciting next chapter as we forge our fantastic future as leaders in luxury cruising,” said Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Oceania Cruises. “Each new ship offers an opportunity to reimagine and perfect the travel experience, and as the inaugural vessel of our Sonata Class, the Oceania Sonata embodies our vision for the future—one defined by a passion for exquisite cuisine, exceptional service, and immersive travel experiences. We cannot wait to share more news in the coming weeks and months.”

Currently under construction by Fincantieri, the Oceania Sonata will accommodate 1,390 guests and a crew of 855. The ship is slated to embark on its maiden voyage in August 2027.
According to the company, the new vessel’s design will feature light-filled spaces and an uplifting, indulgent ambiance that reflects Oceania’s signature approach to refined luxury at sea. The Oceania Sonata will also be the line’s most spacious ship to date, with suites comprising 30 percent of all accommodations.
The ship will introduce two new suite categories and redesigned Owner’s Suites, with every suite and stateroom offering a private, generously sized veranda.
Among the onboard highlights will be an array of dining venues, including the Grand Dining Room, Jacques, Red Ginger, Polo Grill, and Toscana. In total, guests will have access to 10 culinary experiences, combining established favorites with innovative new concepts.
Oceania Cruises noted that additional details about the ship’s dining program and onboard experiences will be released over the coming months.
