Regent Seven Seas Cruises has marked a major construction milestone for its new ship, the Seven Seas Prestige, according to a company press release.
The vessel—Regent’s first new ship class in a decade—was floated out from its building dock at Fincantieri on November 27, 2025.

“The Seven Seas Prestige touching water for the first time marks an extraordinary moment for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, representing the culmination of years of planning and collaboration with our long-standing partners at Fincantieri,” said Jason Montague, chief luxury officer for Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
He added that the response to the new ship has been “overwhelming,” noting that launch day became the brand’s biggest single booking day for a new vessel in its history.
The float-out ceremony took place at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard in Italy, where Brunetta Casara of the yard served as Madrina. The event featured the traditional champagne bottle break against the hull, a ceremonial ribbon cutting, and a prayer led by the shipyard chaplain before the drydock was flooded.
Marco Spiga, senior director and project manager for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, also spoke at the ceremony, expressing gratitude for Fincantieri’s continued partnership.
With the float-out complete, the Seven Seas Prestige has moved to the outfitting pier for its final construction phase. Regent said the team will now begin installing the ship’s “lavish suites, elegant lounges and exquisite restaurants.”
Debuting in December 2026, the Seven Seas Prestige will be the first of three vessels in Regent’s new Prestige-class series. The 76,550-ton ship will accommodate 822 guests and 630 crew members—giving it one of the highest crew-to-guest ratios in the cruise industry.
During its inaugural season, the ship will sail 13 itineraries in Europe and the Caribbean, including two transatlantic crossings. The 10- to 15-night voyages will visit destinations such as Harvest Caye in Belize, the Panama Canal, Lisbon, and Bordeaux.
Two additional Prestige-class ships are scheduled for delivery in 2030 and 2033.
