Uniworld Announces Major Expansion with Four New Ships and Indonesian Yacht Charter for 2027

Uniworld Boutique River Cruises is gearing up for a landmark year in 2027, unveiling plans to launch three new Super Ships and introduce an exclusive yacht charter in Indonesia — marking its most extensive collection to date.

Each of the new Super Ships will carry around 150 guests and continue Uniworld’s signature blend of luxury design and intimate service.

Two of the new vessels — the SS Audrey and SS Marlene — will sail Europe’s rivers, following in the footsteps of their sister ship, SS Emilie, which debuts in 2026. Inspired by “cinematic glamour,” the ships pay tribute to Hollywood icons Audrey Hepburn and Marlene Dietrich.

Meanwhile, the SS São Rafael will join SS São Gabriel on Portugal’s picturesque Douro River, expanding Uniworld’s presence in one of its most popular regions.

Beyond Europe, Uniworld will also debut an exclusive Indonesian experience — two 13-night sailings aboard the expedition yacht Aqua Blu, with luxurious hotel stays in Bali and Singapore framing the journey through the islands.

The 2027 programme also introduces five new itineraries across Europe and Asia. Highlights include an 11-night Paris, Prague & Germany’s Hidden Gems and an 11-night Scenic Rhine, Paris & the Swiss Alps voyage on SS Audrey, a 14-night European Gems cruise on SS Emilie, a 16-night Grand Highlights of the Danube on SS Marlene, and a nine-night Castles Along the Rhine sailing.

According to Chris Townson, Uniworld’s UK & Ireland Managing Director, demand continues to surge. “2025 will be another record year for us, with sales up 18% on an already record-breaking 2024,” he said. “Looking ahead, 2026 and 2027 are shaping up the same way.”

Townson noted that the brand is seeing longer trips and higher average selling prices — up 12% — as luxury travellers continue to prioritise meaningful experiences. He also revealed that Uniworld is in discussions with Seabourn to create new combined ocean and river cruise itineraries from 2027.

“We’re seeing a real boom among our 65-plus guests who are eager to spend on experiences,” Townson added. “Our trade partners are in that ultra-luxury space too, and finding the same opportunities.”

Uniworld’s national account manager, Lee Evanson, shared that plans are already underway to help UK travel agents fill capacity on the new ships, with partner meetings in London and Manchester scheduled soon.

“Four new ships in just two years is incredibly exciting,” Evanson said. “Over the past few years, we’ve hosted more than 13 conferences and 100 agents onboard — and that hands-on approach will continue as we grow.”

Ellen Bettridge, Uniworld’s Chief Executive and President, called the expansion “an exciting chapter of growth and continued elevation.”

“2027 is shaping up to be a landmark year,” Bettridge said. “We’re thrilled to introduce four remarkable new ships and a collection of itineraries that combine cultural immersion, adventure, and luxury in true Uniworld style.”
