Seabourn, the leader in ultra-luxury cruising and expedition travel, has announced the sale of Seabourn Sojourn to Mitsui Ocean Cruises, a subsidiary of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL). As part of the agreement, Seabourn will charter the vessel back from Mitsui Ocean Cruises and continue operating all published voyages through the completion of Seabourn Sojourn’s World Cruise on 15 May 2026. Following the charter period, the ship will be officially handed over to Mitsui Ocean Cruises and will be deployed in a market that does not compete with Seabourn.

“With this transition, Seabourn will have one of the youngest and most modern fleets in the industry, perfectly suited to deliver the private yacht-like experience that makes us a preferred choice in ultra-luxury cruising,” said Mark Tamis, President of Seabourn. “Our award-winning ocean ships, combined with our two recently launched expedition vessels, provide the ideal mix to serve key sectors of the travel market while delivering Seabourn’s signature moments in over 500 destinations across all seven continents.”
Guests and their travel advisors with bookings beyond 15 May 2026 will receive direct communication from Seabourn regarding changes and rebooking options.
“We are proud that, after 16 years in our fleet, Seabourn Sojourn will continue her journeys with Mitsui Ocean Cruises. Over the coming year, we look forward to celebrating her legacy with our guests and crew,” added Tamis.
The Sovereign Cruise Club has fond memories of Seabourn Sojourn’s naming ceremony in London, and she will certainly be missed.
